Crystal Clear

The goal of this blog is to share insights from scripture and insights from extrabiblical sources, including theologians, philosophers, apologists, and my favorite musicians, Twenty Øne Piløts. One of my favorite songs is Clear from their album Regional at Best. The lyrics, “I wish that I had two faces to prove which theory works, Yelling on the street corner or cleverly masking your words…” resonates with me. Only Jesus’ word saves; however, sin has infiltrated the world so deeply that God’s word is deemed offensive to those who do not understand it or have had someone muddy it for them due to hypocrisy, which we are all guilty of. The seeds that stirred my desire to seek Jesus didn’t come all at once. They were planted by a trusted friend — and scattered through the voices of apologists, preachers, and philosophers. Some seeds were gentle. Others were blunt, even accidental. But they took root. And they grew. Sometimes people need to be spoken to directly; other times, subtleties are what ultimately permeate the soul. This blog is for anyone navigating chronic illness without clear answers. I started it to share updates from my own journey, but also to offer space for others to reflect, connect, and feel seen. Whether you’re waiting on referrals, living with invisible symptoms, or just trying to make sense of it all—you’re welcome here. Both approaches can be effective — whether it’s boldly proclaiming truth from a street corner with love, or sharing it subtly through thoughtful conversation. But in the end, if the message doesn’t come from a heart that humbly acknowledges its own sin nature and the undeserved gift of salvation, then it misses the point. It’s not about how clever or loud the delivery is — it’s about pointing to what Jesus did on the cross. Without that foundation, the seed may never take root.
